What is the use of posting the names of the dead. I am saddened by all the war that's going on. I am sure that there are more bodies uncounted for. Don't you feel stupid when posting all these names? I mean they are dead, forget it and move on by fixing all this.

While you may or may not support the war (many of us don't), you can at least show the respect that our young men and women, who have died, deserve. It has nothing to do with right or wrong war.....

No. I personally served with 3 of the brave soldiers who were killed in Iraq. We never forget our fallen.

Additionally, if you don't want to read the names, don't click on the link. How much more simple can that be?

I am going to have to take the middle ground here. I agree with Engineers sentiments about this being disresepectful. But I am more outraged by the fact that all these names are being posted yet we as Americans en masse do nothing about it unless we see pictures of coffins being flown back in. But we are not seeing this because the Bush Administration refuses to let the press take pictures of these coffins and publish them. Then the administration claims this is not censorship??? I mean WTF? They are pictures of coffins, namesless coffins, Not pictures of the dead soldiers face or anything like that. Just the coffin. Are they afraid or something?

I don't like our fellow brothers and sisters being sent off to a sensless and unjust war than anyone else!But unless we start looking at these names and as American citizens work to stop the list from growing we are nothing more than cowards for letting our fellow citizens to be shuffled off to suffer and die in a war that started off a lie and then was substaintiated by constant flip flopping as to why we were there after the reason for war was discovered to be a lie in the first place.

I say, it is not enough that we simply sympathize with the families that are related to those listed on these lists and then simply move on with our own lives! I say it was time long ago that we as Americans should have stood up to our government and said no to a war originally justified by a lie.

So I ask you what is the point of posting these names if we as americans do nothing more than feel sympathy and then move on with letting more fellow citizens die for a lie?

as well the people who post these names (don't be offended) feel that they are the only ones caring and by posting they are the kings/queens. forget the number look at the names but look at your hands, are they tired by typing the long list or tired by doing something to stop the list names growing.... and growing.. it will grow, but we can reduce it year by year?

Wailt till you lose somebody close to you. I did. A piece of you is gone forever. If it were'nt for these these men and women the world would be real different. Not just Iraq but all the others. Like somebody said "RESPECT" How else can we honor them and their families?

Who are you to question anyone's intent? As for as the rest of ^^this^^ lets lay off the booze/crack it is affecting your ability to write coherently.
 
You know what I really hate about war? That dumbasses like you live on while the best in the nation, you know the ones, the ones willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the rest of us, have to die.

Remember that person I was talking about in your other thread? The guy who said those comments to me. Well while some people get sad when they read that list.. others might get happy to see the U.S losing. Those people need to be deported back out to Sea. Not their country but in the middle of the Ocean.
 
While not every soldier who has died signed up out of love for his/her country, each of them played a vital part of the sword and shield of America and their ultimate sacrifice, IMO, should be honoured. We are a web community and this is our way of doing just that.

You're free to criticize or think differently about how this is done, but one would think the majority of human beings with any sort of manners would recognize this is a subject best left alone if all you have is unfunny remarks about what it's 'use' is. You don't think we know there's no 'use'? Get a brain.
 
I dont see anything wrong with that picture. The only reason blacks/white is an issue is because people want to make it one.
