For me it was going to college. I am away from my parents meeting new people doing more things. All while making a future for myself.

So what about you?

Distancing myself from the "friends" that I hung out with in Jr. High.

Most of them still live with their parents at the age of 25 or 26 and are really never going to do anything with their lives. I started running around with a better crowd that helped me do positive things with my high school years than negative things.

i solved a set of complex mathematical equations that enabled the military to shoot a laser beam at the alien spacecraft which was about to conquer earth and anally probe everyone.

actually, this is a tough question. i have done a lot of things which i personally found to be extremely abstract thinking, so its hard to tell. tough question indeed...

Getting an internship at a local hospital. Sure, I don't sleep anymore, but it's a great learning experience and looks very good on med school applications.

Firebombed that Hot Topic store in the mall before it opened its doors and had a chance to spray its vile poison all over the residents of my fair city.

Saving up for 6 months to buy a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 1. That eventually led to college and a career in software development.

Attending college. It broadened my horizons immensely and made me a little more social, besides helping me get my first development job.
