I have a Dell 333Mhz system that needs a graphics card upgrade. I want to get something that wont be be an overkill for my system. In other words, I dont want to get a card thats gonna be wasted because my system is so slow. Let the suggestions fly!! Oh, and preferably a card I can pick up at my local BB.

For a 333mhz system, a TNT2 based card would be a good match.
If you went beond that into the Ge-force 256 (oribinal ge-force) you wouldnt take full advantage of the card.
Why not upgrade the Cpu?

A Geforce 2 GTS-V would be a cheap alternative and you could use it for time to come. The hindrance from non-ddr ram will not be too much when you are considering this card. I wouldn't put a GF3 or above on one though cause you will not be getting much out of it to warrant that much of a price or performance increase.

Don't you think a Ge-force 2 GTS would be overkill for this system?
In his post, he says he doesn't want overkill, so I don't think he's planning on keeping the card for his next system.

Yeah, a tnt2 would be good. They still sell those at best buy? If not, a geforce2mx wouldn't be too much overkill.

Edit: Oh yeah, make sure to see if that dell takes an agp card or only pci. You don't want to end up with a card that won't fit 🙁
