I want a laptop and three things are important to me.

Size, price, dvd... and a keyboard (so you don't recommend a portable dvd player)

Fujitsu LifeBook P series looks pretty nice... same with iBook even though I don't want MacOS.

Dell had a recent promotion for an Inspiron 1100 for around $600 after MIR, but I think the deal has expired. Their deals come and go... and comes again so keep an eye out for them.

That deal is still going through Dell SB. $849.00 with a $250.00 rebate. It is a brick though at a little over 8 lbs iirc.

I like the Fujitsus. I heard one for S2000 and one for P5000. Fujitsu's compare thing isn't up-to-date with prices and such... but the price difference looks to be about $400.

I really want DVD and the port replicator would be nice. What doust thou sayeth?
