Whats the slowest computer you've still got in everyday use?

The slowest rig in my everyday arsenal is a 1GHz PIII Coppermine rig. (Dell Optiplex SFF w/ 512MB RAM, GeForce 6200 128MB, and 160GB HDD)

Runs 24/7 with Ubuntu 8.04, I use it for web site testing and a little light programming.

I have a dual P3 1GHz with 1GB of RAM, 2x60GB hdds and a GF4 Ti4200, but I can't really count that as every day use. Its barely on and only crunches S@H when it is.

The slowest system that I have on daily and use daily is my notebook, a 2.1Ghz Dothan with 2GB of RAM and a 7800GTX Go. Yeah, I know, it needs to be replaced badly. Can't even play 720p videos.

1.2 GHz Via C7 mini-itx system. Used as a web server, file server, general messing around with Linux.

I'm still using a Socket 7 system with an AMD K6-III chip at 550 MHz with 768 MB RAM. I recently upgraded from a 60 GB to a 120 GB HDD. My daughter has a similar machine with 2 x 20 GB HDD's.

Hmmm...I still have a Pentium III 550MHz with 256MB RAM, 27Gig HDD, and Geforce 3 (!!) Vid card...but it doesn't really get regular use. Only turn it on sometimes for random web surfing and/or downloading. 😛

AthlonXP 2500 barton. or maybe the celeron 1100 on my right under the shelf. no, that one never gets turned on. the barton.

I also have a Pentium 100 w/24mb ram and two 500mb (yes, megabyte) HDs that I turn on once a year.

Until recently (March) I was using the following:
Dell Precision 410:
2 P3-850 coppermines
30GB 10k scsi
GeForce3
512MB RAM

The machine originally shipped with a P2-300 and was over 9 years old, running 24/7 90% of that. It still browsed just fine, but I retired it due to the noise and power it used.

I was still running a Pentium 75 that had been upgraded to a Pentium 150 with one of those "Overdrive" chips (remember those?) until about 2.5 years ago. It got replaced with a Celeron 550 for a couple years, and that got replaced with the C7.

lol I actually have a Pentium Overdrive 125MHz chip, new in retail box, still shrink wrapped in my closet.

I've got a P4 1.4ghz with 256mb ram and a 40gb hard drive in the house. My brother uses that sometimes and its hooked up to the printer (been too lazy to move it =b), so I use it through the network sometimes.

Dell Inspiron 4000.

Cely 600MHz, 384MB RAM, Buffalo PCMCIA Wireless, WinXP Pro.

Works very well as an eBook Reader, casual Word Processing, email and Surfing.

3 days ago it was a 350MHz Dell w/64 MB RAM that I used for downloading my torrents.

I took it apart only because I wanted to use the case for newer hardware.

This one. It's an AMD 3500+ (single core) box with 1GB of RAM and an ATI HD2600Pro video card. I'm seriously considering an upgrade, but on the other hand, it still works.

Intel P4 in Asus P4PE w/2GB RAM, XP Pro, 160 GB HDD and a bunch of external devices. CCPU is 2.8 OC'd to 3.0.

Dell Optiplex 500 MHz PIII, 20GB HD, 128MB RAM. I found it next to the trash at storage company. Computer accessories were still new in package

iBook G4 12" from either 2003 or 2004. 1Ghz cpu, 512mb ram. still good for browsing and watching movies. and got an excellent battery life. just like these new netbooks coming out these days but with more features and OS X. (dvd/cdrw, bluetooth, wi-fi, 1024x768 screen)

i use a pentium 4 @ work.. lol n/m i think that might be stronger than the t1350 laptop i'm on now @ 1.86 ghz.. 🙁 sad world

1.4ghz Tualatin celery with a 5900ultra and 512mb ram. It's on 24x7 and used every single day as a kid's machine. It plays WoW, Runescape, Warcraft3, Oblivion, and a bunch of little kid games like Dora, Clifford, and a bunch of web games on Nickjr. Now it is 4th in line of 4 rigs (soon to be 5th).

It was mine back in '99 until '02 when I built my first machine myself. At the time, I think it had a P3 600 in it with a TNT2, built by Dell. Barely remember. All I know is it was the last pre-built I ever got.

S939 4200+ X2 w/ 1.5gb of ram @ home

@work we've got a P4 2.4ghz w/ 512mb ram running our subversion/trac servers.

AMD K6-III+ overclocked to 550MHz w/224MB that gets used for for text chat. If we're counting router boxes I also have a Celeron 300MHz w/64MB running m0n0wall.
