What's the rule for posting personally-owned/won coupon codes?

I want to make public my unused Dellf codes on the 5th of January (NO SOONER, thank the eBay code sellers and *PLEASE* don't PM me), as I won't be using them. I only ask because these codes were essentially "won" in a game of chance, which would technically make the information my own to disclose, but AT might have other guidelines. I doubt Dell would care since their use means profit for them.

The codes won't be listed on the forums itself, but rather in a TXT file on my own personal webspace. The sheet will NOT be updated past it's initial posting, so if a code is gone, it's gone.

I'd really hate to see these go to waste, but I don't want to break any rules in the process as these forums have been good to me.

I'd like to re-emphasize NOT PMing me. As callous as it sounds, I don't care HOW heartfelt your case or plea reads, I have no way of knowing at a time like right now whether you'd just list the code on eBay for pure profit. Pending approval from on high, I'll make them available come the 5th around noon EST, because I figure the good codes will be USED by the time someone can place them on eBay with a Buy-it-Now.

And no, I have no "supercodes" like "get a 17" LCD TV for one dollar with XXX purchase."

Technically, going by the rules, i would think they are not allowed since everyone can't just visit dell's website through a single click and see all the same codes.... Well, you could, but you catch my drift ;)

You may post:

* Links to coupons on the issuing vendor's own site.
* Links to scans of coupons that invite you to share them with your friends.
* Links to scans of other coupons, AS LONG AS they do not state that copies or reproductions are not allowed, or that the coupon is valid only for the original recipient.

DO NOT post:

* Coupon or promotion numbers.
* Links to coupon numbers you could not post, here.
* Links to scans of coupons other than those listed, above.
* Requests for others to post or send you coupon numbers or offers to send them to anyone else.

Just the way it is written leads me to believe that was their intention.

I'm reading the PDF rules and regs on the code emails to see if it mentions anything about validity of distribution that would exonerate AT from any wrongdoing.

The "interesting" part of this is in the mention of actual prizes (like the free TVs and whatnot), it specifically says:

"Prizes are not transferable or refundable."

Under their broad legalese, codes could count as prizes.

I have tons of codes from that game, too bad I don't need a new computer. $300 off $1000 is nice.

If you ae not going to use it anyways...if you post it and if it can't be used, what loss is it?

What exactly is the purpose behind the prohibition on the publication of coupon codes and links to coded coupons (like the Staples coupons where you just change the last couple digits of the URL)?

That's exactly the purpose (at least one of them)- so we don't have coupons posted where you can change the wording - that's fraudulent use of coupons and it isn't condoned here.

I would say post away when you feel like it. If you want to give them away for free go for it. I have a bunch of these semi-worthless (to me at least) codes as well. Maybe we should start a post with delf give away coupons?
