What's the relationship between Chinese and Japanese people?

Lately I've watched quite a few movies from both Chinese and Japanese directors and I noticed in quite a few of them there is definite hostility between the 2 groups. So it's made me wonder what's the relationship between Chinese and Japanese people? If there is hostility or tension what caused it?

the rape of nanking might have had something to do with it

One of many things the Japanese did to China. The OP should research what Japan did to China prior to/during WWII.

Yeah there was some really bad stuff that went down between Japan/China prior to WW2. You should do some research into it. Japan taking over chunks of china is how it actually was able to build up a military, or it helped alot at least.

I was told that a long time ago, all the prisoners were taking to an island and left there....that place is now known as japan....🙂

The Japanese have repeatedly proven that they're capable of owning them. Sounds mean, I know, but if you want to prove them wrong, there are a lot of better ways to do that than by getting your ass kicked repeatedly.

But yeah, they're mean.

because japanese people were chinese in origins, and they refused the fact they came from china (maybe they are ashamed of their roots.) 😀

I can't speak for Koreans but as far as Chinese people go, there's still animosity between teh two nations. But ironically the Chinese openly admit the japanese make better products and pretty much buy only Japanese when it comes to electronics and cars.

Koreans hate Japan too, since Japan also occupied Korea once and did horrible things there...

In fact, Korea was spelled with a 'C' before Japan occupied them... Japan didn't like Corea coming before Japan in the alphabet, so they changed it to Korea... That's why 4 yrs ago at the World Cup, you saw people holding up signs with Korea spelled with a 'C'
