I used to think acura was an american car. But then I had this debate with a friend of mine who said acura is also a japenese car and it's a "luxary model" of honda. What do u guys think?

Both are owned by Honda Motor Company.

Acura = luxury brand
Honda = average brand

Keep in mind that Acura cars are badged as Hondas in Japan though. 🙂

Someone has claimed they started building Lexi here in US tho... ( can't confirm yet )

Confirmed.... All Lexi are built in japan besides the new RX330 which is built in Ontario.

Majority of the Acuras are built in the US. , MDX built in Ontario as well, RSX US/Japan CL/ US

Which ironically are all made in Japan, while a good percentage of the Hondas sold in America are actually made in America. 😛

That's cool. Just don't be like my friend who thought that Porsche & BMW was an American car company. I kid you not.

IIRC, ALL Infiniti's are built in Japan.
That explains why Infiniti's are near the top for reliability every year.

Heh, so is my lawnmower "Powered by Acura???"... the only things that should have a Powered By Honda sticker are F1, champ, and other REAL race cars.
