what's the quickest way to cash a check?

I have a check and I need the cash ASAP

can I take it to a place like Walmart money center or Payday and get cash asap?
or would I be better off taking it to my bank teller and ask to deposit the cash immediately

I need cash in my hand or available for withdraw ASAP

Take it to the bank it's drawn against...That way, your bank won't put a hold on the funds until it clears.

I have never had a problem bringing a check into my own bank and cashing it. You can go to the bank the check is from, but you might have to give your thumbprint if you are not a customer of the bank.

Are you guys sure you have to do it at the bank it's drawn on? You should be abel to do it at the bank you have an account with as well right? I've done that numerous times. Just tell them you want ot cash this check

If you do it at the bank its drawn on, you can cash it w/o an acct. If you do it at your bank, they'll usually only cash it if you had enough in your acct to cover it already -- just in case it bounces.

Uh no they wont. I just saw a lady try this today when I was cashing my paycheck and after she walked out the teller she tried to cash it with had a chuckle.

You either have to have an account where you are cashing or the check is from the bank where you are cashing it.
