What's the problem?

My Dad said his monitor just went black on him earlier. I checked it out and there doesn't seem to be anything we can do. It's just staying in sleep mode, the power light is blinking and when the PC is powered up the monitor doesn't respond and stays sleeping. When I unplug it it still gets the signal cable message, but when I plugged it into my Dad's labtop it still didn't work. I'm assuming this is the monitor that is shot (thankfully not the video card, I bought that for them lol) but is there anything I can do? Maybe this is fixable?

Thanks

What should I be looking for? I figured it could be the cable but it's built into the back of the monitor, so I can't even switch them over.

When I tried it with the labtop the cable pins seemed fine but I didnt inspect them too much. Am I just looking for bends, or?

Oh also, when we boot up the PC it gives a triple post noise. 4 I think actually.

Beeeeep, beep-beep-beep.

This also got me worried, any ideas?

Ok, hit the reset button on the PC like 5 times and it's working fine now. Apparently it did this the other day and that's what my Mom did when trying a bunch of stuff.

Assuming this isn't healthy (it's also gone back to single beep) what could be the prob/solution.

That beep code could be for a loose VGA card.

Normally sounds like Beeeeeep, beep beep.

If it happens again re-seat the graphics card 🙂
