Just trying to network 2 computers together with a crossover cable. The 2 computers see each other and the shared resources, but when I try to copy a file from one to the other it takes about 30sec before even the copying file window comes up. Then it losses it connection to the file. I'm using the TCP/IP protocol, should I install the NetBEUI? Could it be the cable or one of the NIC's? Any Help is appreciated.

TCP/IP should be fine. You might want to check the duplex settings on each card to make sure that each is set to the same settings. If they aren't you can get alot of collisions, giants, runts, etc... that can cause really slow network performance ( takes like 5 min to copy a 2 MB file) Other than that check the cables with a cable tester if you have one. Hope this helps.

If your Network setting are correct, what you describe is often a result of Hardware conflict (NIC IRQ), or and bad NIC.
