What's the pricing schedule usually like for video cards?

New video card is released. Selling for $500. (8800GTS)

Then drops to $400 - after how long? (8800GTS currently)

Then drops to $300 - after how long?

Then drops to $200 - after how long?

Then drops to $100 and just kinda evens out until obsolete.

it only takes months, about 4 months for like 1/3 drop

Looking at the 8800GTS, it was released on November 8th 2006, so a little over 2 months ago. In that time it has dropped $100 in price, from $500 to $400. I'm assuming if we wait another two months the price will go down another $100 to $300?
