Why waste money and paper when everything can be done electronically?

Ever read the Book "Ecotopia"?

It had a LOT of really good ideas in it, one being books on computers (LOOONG before computers were common place) as well as newspapers printed with disappearing ink so the paper could be reused.

Good book if you ever come across it!

I would hate reading an entire book on a screen...plus I underline and write in the margins frequently. I do think that magazines and newspapers should be made available electronically to conserve paper.

That doesn't even make sense. I suppose you're also wondering where the flying cars are since it's 2004.

E-newspaper is becoming more common these days, but they will never take over newspaper print.

It's a habit and a way of living. People get up in the morning in the kitchen table with a cup of coffee and paper in hand before they head out for work. Or people who take it with them on the train/bus or to the john.

I am going to try and avoid the growing chance of a flame fest, and try and answer seriously.

Here are some situations where print is much more convienient.

1) Bathroom
2) Bus/car/plane/boat
3) School (more true years ago, now computers are much more widely accepted.)

And that is just off the top of my head.

While, ecologically electronic media may be better.... Practicality says print needs to be around for some time yet.

Besides, I prefer to read laying down. I can not get my desktop to sit on my bed in just the right manner when I read. :p

Oh, that reminds me:

4) In bed.

Because it's more comfortable to read on the couch with my feet propped up than in some computer chair.

Yup. Prints are superior. Especially when it comes to technical books, manuals and so on.
I prefer reading printed text over a monitor.
