What's the point of modding FWD cars?

RWD and FWD does make a different. RWD just feels different and better while driving. I love my fwd modified turbo caravan but come on. As for why I did it its a freaking turbo charged minivan do I need to say more 🙂? I also have a turbo charged miata and yeah there is a difference and its not just the miata handles a little better.

with 0-60 times < 6 seconds...
I really regret not looking into this (altho, more of just an E36 somthing, to try and keep it closer to 10k about 3yrs ago). I was too caught up in the fact I hated BMW interior, and that it was more of a pain to work with (and I had less confidence in my mechanical skills). I would have been happy even w/ a 323 I think. I drove my friend's for a little, and it felt good as a daily+autocrosser.

But at the same time.. premium fuel.. ugh.. my commute would eat me up alive.

As far as the comment of "Must be SRT4s"

Think about the Cadillacs out there with the 300HP Northstars or the 500CID engines that'll light up the front wheels 🙂

But people have different tastes and most often people work with what they have.

Edit:
looking at the 500's power output, although it started off at well over 300HP, when it ended production in '76 it was down to 190HP and 360LB/ft of torque. Ouch! Those are non-turbo diesel numbers.

Its like saying why overclock a celeron CPU and etc.

Sort of, it's more like buying a celeron computer and putting a $500 video card in it. What's the point?

If you want a high-performance car it's more practical to buy one that's made for that kind of stuff or has the ability. If you want a car that gives you luxury, status or whatever that's what you buy.

It's un-practical and doesn't make any sense to me. I didn't mean to hate on it but just to try and understand it.

I really don't understand what you're saying. That FWD cars aren't capable? I would certainly disagree. I participate in SCCA events and regularly see modded FWD cars destroy modded RWD and AWD cars (and the reverse).
