What's the point of Blogs/MySpace?

i would rather not let strangers see me or know my personal life. 😕 and if you're a guy that owns a blog/space, that's even worse. i find it funny how people post blogs but hardly any people read it.

Okay, think of somebody who is the exacty opposite of you. There's your answer.

The vast majority just crave attention.
Then there are the people who use it to keep in touch with distant friends.
Then there are the people who use it to promote something, like a band.

Teenage girls around the world now hate you.

Maybe the point of MySpace is teenage girls...

edit:

Okay...I just sounded really creepy there. I did mean it that way, but I didn't mean to come off too creepy. :disgust:

hi5.com is an interesting idea. Cool to search around for 10 or 20 minutes and see how you know a bunch of people through others. After that it is boreing and useless.

I agree with you on Blog's and MySpace.

the point is
1) for online dating
2) horny teenagers looking at pictures of other horny teenagers
3) to find friends

I use myspace a lot, and I'm a dude. For me, it's a way to dig up friends from the past, whom without a myspace connection I might not otherwise find them.

I also have friends all over the country, and it's a convenient way for us all to "hang out" so to speak. We trade jabs back and forth on comments, blogs, etc.

Lastly, I like the blogs because writing makes me feel good, and I don't usually have anything so private that I can't put it up. I mean, just because my blog is visible to the whole world, doesn't mean the whole world will see it.

Hooking up. That is the reason for myspace.

Emo. That is the reason for lame blogs. Everyone feels like they need to get stuff out.

just because you have myspace doesn't mean you need to use the blog feature, i think i've used it twice since i've signed up

i use it to keep in touch with people from school mostly, i don't add random people in desperation

i have to agree with the stereo type though, its true for about 2/3 of the people on the site

it's the same as having a diary that no one reads. some people like to get their thoughts out and down on paper. call it a type of therapy.

what i don't get is why people put up one new pic and post 4 bulletins on how everyone should comment on them

(same goes for when they post new blogs)
