Looks like the forum ate up my original post >.<

As I understand it, OLED display's pixels produce their own light. So why add an LED notification light when you can just keep a few pixels on on the display to serve the same purpose?

Because I never had any luck running apps like noled without draining the battery.

Actually the OLED screen itself consumes a small amount of power just by being turned on. So a totally black screen still isn't as good as a totally off screen with a notification light instead.

I like a nice bright standalone notification light, in fact I quite miss it whenever I get a new phone without.

anyone had this happened on their samsung galaxy s2?

If OLED's burn in, I dont think anybody could possibly have owned that one particular model long enough to find out. I seriously doubt anybody bought one just to set it in a docking station with the exact same screen for months on end.

go to the ATT store see if its one the one there, if they leave them on display mode all day it has most likely happened, happened to the Gnex i saw at the VZW store and it was less then a week old

An LED notification light should be a standard feature on all smart phones, the way a seat belt is in a car. Having a good LED on the Droid 1, losing it to the shitty one on the Tbolt, to the good one on the Nexus is enough to see why.

I switched from a Droid 1 to an iPhone 4S and missed the notification LED. Just sold my 4S and my Galaxy Nexus will be here in a few days. Looking forward to having an LED again!

I thought the Galaxy Nexus didn't use AMOLED, or am I thinking about something else?
