If you live a shallow and vapid life, you might as well be. A good human life is an experiment in the power of creativity, over anything that lies in its path. The purpose of life is to live, nothing more, and nothing less. The beauty comes in the few humans that realize each moment is equally worthless and precious.

Even if there is no after life, or meaning in the universe I would think this would make you even more motivated to do what you enjoy, and waste as little of the short amount of time we have on this earth.
