Hi,

Are there any online specifications that mention the official max. temp for this card to run safe without risking instability, etc.. cause I can't find it anywhere? Anybody who has the card and can check the specifications that came with it if they mention the max. temp for this card?! Or perhaps that Catalyst driver mentions it?!

Thanks in advance for the info!

Mike.

The passively cooled Sapphire Ultimate 9600XT runs mid 60C?s under load.

In that test the 9800?s were running even quite a bit hotter than that. Even up in the 70C?s would probably be ok.

My BBATI 9600XT idles at 45C and 51C under load -- but I don?t think the on-die diode is reading accurately. When I boot up cold it starts reading around 38C which is 10-12C warmer than my CPU. It should be reading high 20?s.

Most of the reviews I?ve seen the 9600XT idled in the low 30?s?s and close to 40C under load. I pulled my hsf off and applied AS ceramique to make sure it was making good contact with the GPU. Lowered my idle temps 2C to the 45C noted above. There seems to be quite a variance in accuracy with those on-die diodes.

Graphs were mis-labeled in this rage3d review?it?s a 9600XT ?

Thanks for the info, but this still doesn't really tell for sure what the max. stable temp is for the 9600 XT. Aren't there any statements by ATI about this?!

PS: in the article you mentioned (http://www.rage3d.com/content/reviews/video/ati9600xt/?page=2 they write: "Between 64°C and 127°C, the core is clocked at its default value of 500MHz". Does that mean that this card can safely go to 127°C?!

Nobody knows where to find or has the official temp specs for this card?! I really would like to know what the official max temp is.
