It's not much but I used to get up on the weekends, before my ex would wake up, and make him pancakes and fruit and juice and bacon or whatever else we had and serve it to him in bed, just to see him smile.
I guess he showed me huh.

Not to be an ass, but you really need to drag yourself out of the self pity pit already.

lol

I'm glad you know so much about me...
No pity party here. And I don't feel sorry for myself. More of a feeling of regret.
Just something nice I used to do that was never expected of me.

Hey, that is just the vibe I get from some of the posts I have read.

No offense meant.

I drove 10 and spent the night in a cheap motel in order to take a friend of mine out to lunch the next day.

I don't know what is expected and what isn't anymore.

When I spent 6 hours/day for 4 months straight wiring up my grandma's home, was that expected of me?
When I told my cousin that if I sold the car he gave me (after I fixed it), that I'd give him a cut, and later did, was that expected of me?
When I helped four sets of family members move, was that expected of me?
When I helped a coworker replace a transmission, was that expected of me?

I just never know anymore.

When I was in the Navy. We have a Navy ball every year sometime around the Navy B-Day(Oct 13th). I never go to them, and my last three years I kept getting stuck on The Committee. So they were all giving me crap because I was at the meetings and doing fundraisers but hadnt bought a ticket. The last few weeks we were running a little short on money, the fundraisers werent doing so hot that year. We were a little worried things might not work out. I decided to help out even though I wasnt attending. I went to the bank and got a cashiers check for $500. Slipped it under Arce's office door one morning and went on leave during the weekend of the Ball. No one ever gave me sh1t after that.

500 big ones isnt a hard thing to do when you have no kids or loans to pay.

Come to think of it, most bases around the world will be having their events this weekend.
Shame. In 8 years I could never get a date for that thing.

Paid for my moms surgery she just had.. She has lost a massive amount of weight in the last 5+ years.. we are talking losing 300+ lbs.. So she has (had) a lot of excess skin because of the years of being stretched out.. So I paid for her to have the surgery go get it all lifted. It was very important to her. I even flew down when it was time to have the surgery.
