What's the name of this particular feature for a case...?

slide the panel of your case where the motherboard is attached to so it's easy to mess with the board and stuff (ie the psu won't get in the way)... anyone mind telling me and have any recommendations while they're at it? (i'm in the market for an amd btw)

thanks

The feature you are looking for is called a slidable motherboard tray. Here's a link to a case that has one. -> link

My case has one and I love it! 😀

As to a particular case recommendation, you might want to tell us your price range for starters, and other reqs like case size (ie full tower, mini tower etc....)

price range up to $60ish dollars... needs to fit at least 3 hard drives (just in case), an optical drive, floppy drive... the standard... i'll be having an athlon 3000 chip... i'd rather not have a heavy case unless it's worth it

thanks and what kind do u have?

$60 price range is going to make your choices pretty limited.

My case is a Directron branded case that is not made anymore (I bought it a couple of years ago and it has been modded quite a bit.)

Here's a Super Flower Case that is probably exactly the same case http://www.directron.com/301b.html
Here's a couple of pics of mine....pic1 pic2
Too maximize cooling efficiency I had to cut out the stock fan grills. (They were very restrictive.)

When I am purchasing a new case I normally check Directron and NewEgg first. (shipping cost reasons)
You should probably do a search and post back some of what you find that appeals to you. (Case selection is very subjective)

It's called a removable motherboard tray. Silverstone Berserker - see my review of it here: Review. Very few cases for less money have that feature unless you find a used one in the FS/T sections or on ebay or a distress-sale place like dumpinggoods.com.

I was thinking about getting this skyhawk case recently.
All aluminum, slide out mobo tray and the price is right. In the end, I went for Lian Li however for more like $100

Yes, you can find some Skyhawk cases that have the removable tray for cheap but they are pretty flimsy and no modern conveniences inside.

I just got an Aspire X-Dreamer II from NewEgg. It has a removable mobo tray, which for some reason isn't advertised. Think it might be because the earlier revisions (most obvious difference is 2x80mm rear instead of 1x120mm) didn't have them. The black one with window goes on one-day sale every 7-10 days, save a few bucks on the case, $10 on shipping. I got mine for $61 shipped, it was $59 shipped on Thursday. It's steel, but quite light due to thinner sheet metal. No internal sharp edges, but you might dent one of the side panels pretty easily. Lots of reviews online.
