I once worked for a place that illegally dumped chemicals into the sewer system, and bribed an EPA employee to give 24 hours notice before an inspection so they could run water hoses into the sewers to flush everything out before the inspector arrived and took samples.

They also took all the labels off the chemicals when they were delivered, and replaced them with their own "internal names" so employees wouldn't be able to look up what the chemicals actually were.

Probably getting my co-worker fired. Reason being my supervisor was suspecting that she was slacking off on the job so she told me to spy on her.

Doesn't sound like anything unethical, but the bad part is that I befriended her and got know her really well. She was a really nice person but just swamped with other problems in her personal life and also the fact she was attending school that she couldn't keep up with everything. She then asked me one day "I think the boss has someone spying on me to get me fired". I told her to rest assured that no such thing was happening.

About a month later I turned in my report on her and she got fired. Left an icky taste in my mouth too because I got a raise out of it.

Stupid petty stuff:

The only other thing I can think of in my life was when I was yonger and I use to go into 7-11 and steal free drinks. Me and my friends would literally stop by the local 7-11 after a basketball game or something and drink out of one giant big gulp, then refill it 6 times while in the store. After we're all bloated we would pay for the last refill and leave. Eventually they caught onto us and banned us from the store, saying the cops would be called if us "punks" returned.

Pretty much a strait arrow in my life, nothing exciting.

Absolutely nothing wrong with what he did. One should never make friends with people they work with. While you are on their dime, you are theirs to do with as they wish.

That sounds like a job I'd turn down if my only other option were poverty.

I once hit a parked car and didn't leave a note, SORT OF.

I was parking in a parking lot, and cranking the wheel real hard to get into a tight spot. I heard a noise like I had scraped the car, and then when I backed out I saw a ding in their car. I went to a different spot. Real jerk move.

A few days later, I heard the noise again and realized it was just the steering wheel making that noise. I also realized there's no way I could have caused the ding I saw because it was higher than my bumper. But at the time I was so panicked by the noise I somehow deluded myself into believing I had caused the ding.

I learned a lot about myself from that incident! Apparently I'm an enormous jackhole.

Way to ruin a decent thread with your political crap chambersc and JS80.

You asked, I answered. My "firsthand unethical act that I have Witnessed" is just as valid as any other here.

You could find a way to make a political point relevant to many threads in Off Topic, but do you really want to be another dmccowen? There's no need to bring that crap in here.

True that. Let's sit idly by and wait for someone to really feed the fire.

I used to work in the carnival games section at an amusement park (Paramount's Great America). Let's just say, I pocketed a hefty amount of "income" during my time there. I'd do it again too! Worked us like dogs without letting us keep drinks at our booths at minimum wage. That is just the tip of the iceberg for me. I was pretty reckless when I was young...

Well, I'm not too proud of this, but here goes anyways. Obviously this is not something I'd ever consider doing again.

When I was maybe 14 or so, (freshman in HS) we took a class trip to Disneyland. Well, the day we went was a hot and sunny Friday - so everyone, their mother, and their grandmother was there. Lines were 1-3 hours for EVERYTHING. I was walking around with three friends. We noticed the horrible lines...and then saw a sign saying "Wheelchair Rental $5.00 / day..."

That said, I guess you can figure out what we did. Yep, we rented a wheelchair, took turns being the "cripple" and got in the handicapped lines ahead of everyone else. Everyone else waited 1 - 3 hours, we were on everything within 5 - 15 minutes. We ended up on each attraction multiple times, most of the people we went with maybe got on 3-5 rides the whole time.

One girl who was in our class saw us speeding past the line on one ride, and said "So how's the cripple" just dripping with sarcasm...everyone else in line gave her real dirty looks, and one guy said "Show some respect. Jeez." We kind of laughed about that one later.

Kicked a cat down some (concrete) stairs. It died shortly afterwards. Felt pretty bad about it, especially as it was my friend's cat.
