Tylenol OD causes liver failure, which is a very very bad way to go.

Yea, from what I understand of a acetaminophen OD is that you likely will not die right away. Your liver and possibly kidneys will shut down, then you'll have a day or two to be miserably sick in a hospital waiting for the end. Likely your family and friends will be there and you'll think about how you don't want to die anymore also. But, short of a liver transplant (which isn't likely to happen within a few days time) you're just a dead man walking. Since acetaminophen is in a number of over the counter sleep aids, it's very possible that's what happened in that case.

Whoa. I've seen every episode of M*A*S*H several times and I love that show... but I had no idea the theme song had lyrics!

OP: I'd vote for shotgun blast to the face.

You would have known if you had seen the only good episode of M*A*S*H ever made.

Suicide is Painless is a fucking awesome tune.

dude also wrote the score/theme to "McCabe and Mrs Miller," another incredible Altman flick.

Once again, so fucking win!

Also, CO2. You would never even know you were going to sleep, you would just fall over and be out before your head hit the ground. Drugs could make you sick prior to drifting off. Machines and such would create fear. I would like to think you wouldn't feel being burned by a close nuke or meteor as your body would be gone before the nerves could transmit the pain signal to the brain, but if not, this will involve a flash of MOTHERFUCKING INTENSE PAIN.

On the other end of the spectrum, Irukandji poisoning (if you die from it).

It has been described as feeling like little more than a mosquito bite. The symptoms, however, gradually become apparent and then more and more intense in the following 5 to 120 minutes (30 minutes on average). Irukandji syndrome includes an array of systemic symptoms including severe headache, backache, muscle pains, chest and abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, sweating, anxiety, hypertension, tachycardia and pulmonary edema.[4][10][11] One unusual symptom associated with Irukandji syndrome is a feeling of "impending doom".[12] Patients have been reported as being so certain that they are going to die that they beg their doctors to kill them to get it over with.

Massive heroin or morphine overdose.

You'll get that powerful opiate rush...then simply close your eyes as your respiratory and circulatory systems shut down. No pain, just a blissful drug buzz...then nothing.

CO, maybe. CO2...hell fucking no.

CO2 doesn't knock you out before you suffocate. If you've ever been in a fire...well, it's essentially the same as drowning. You'll do whatever you can to escape that situation.

There's a shit-load of suffering that will happen with a massive CO2 inhalation before it paralyzes you for some time, then you slowly die.

Can anyone really argue against INSTANT VAPORIZATION being the most painless way to die?

Imatard. I mean CO. CO2 would be awful for a bit.
