Actually after writing the thread title, I think I might have asked this a long time ago but I can't remember.

Anyway, what's the most painful thing you've experienced? (physical)

For me, I've had this happen about 2 - 3 times: after getting out of the pool, I would put Swimmer's Ear in my ear to get the water out. For some reason, after putting it in and waiting for 30 seconds then turning over it to come out, I got the most painful feeling in my ear I've ever had. It feels like someone is taking a screwdriver to your eardrum and it actually hurts so bad I have to lay on the bed holding my ear and literally moaning in pain. It lasts for about 20 seconds and hurts so badly it's unbelievable.

I've had this happen 2 - 3 times over the years, and it's easily the most pain I've felt.

What about you all?

EDIT: Sorry, this has been a thread previously, my fault, but maybe a chance for inputs from those who didn't post last time.

When I was little, my dad was standing on a stool putting up some blinds, and I was looking up at him. He had a drill in his hand and brought his arm down, and the tip of the drill went right into my eye. I had to go to the ER and the doctor removed metal shards from my eye-- they were from the magnetic tip. I had to wear an eyepatch. :(

Not much really. The first time I dislocated my knee I wore a full leg cast, down to the toes. Taking showers required wrapping the leg up with a trash bag so it wouldn't get wet. It apparently got water in it and incredibly infected. After the 8 weeks, they took the cast off and my entire foot had like 4 layers of skin eaten off. I had to go home that night and scrub it with a wire brush in hot water and soap to clean it.

The pain was pretty bad, but so was the smell of rotting flesh. My foot was nearly transparent in hot water for like 6 months after that as skin grew back.

I broke my pinky toe stubbing it on a antique wooden chair leg. The toe was 90 degrees off axis horizontally. Every time I moved any part of my body, the pain would shoot from the toe up my leg into my spine. It was not pleasant at all. It was very embarrassing being totally owned by just the tiny toe.

We had one of these threads a year or two ago. I remember one guy who fell into hot asphalt and went to the ER where they pulled it off (with his skin) without anesthesia.

It was horrible. I was probably about 7 or 8 at the time. I was crying when it happened and I was crying a mixture of tears and blood. Yes my eye fully recovered. It only hit the white part, not the cornea or anything. So there is no vision damage, thank God. He literally missed the colored part by a millimeter, if that.

Running into a pole with knee. Was playing soccer with class during phys.ed, I was on defense cause I sucked, ran to cover, then bam.

Oh and getting a basketball in my balls during phys.ed. I had to crouch for at least 10 minutes while the pain went away.

Probably also getting scalded when I was a kid, except I can't remember that pain. Just the hospital visits, wrist bands and popsicles.

Eewwweeeehh waahhhhh yuck.

Drills in the eye are only funny in The Simpsons.

I don't know that I've experienced anything that would qualify as horribly painful, at least not along the lines of other things experienced here. Notable things that come to mind:

- Basement was flooded with about an inch of water, and I was walking too fast on the floor. My foot slipped out ahead of me, and either I went down at an acceleration 5x that of normal gravity, or else I just have slow reaction time. My memory of it was that I was walking, and then suddenly I was on my back in cold water, my neck hurt, and my toe really hurt. I was holding something, and I never even let go of it - my hands were still holding it right in front of me, so I never even moved to brace myself.
As I went down, my foot apparently flew forward right into a chair leg, and splashed my mom's PC with water (it's ok though). I had on a coat at the time, so my head was lightly cushioned as it, and my back, smacked into the concrete. For all I know, I fractured the toe. It swelled up a good bit and hurt for well over a week. My neck has never been right since then.

- Migraines throughout the years. A few of them, all I could do was just rock side to side in bed, crying slightly, though I couldn't even do that very much because that just made it hurt more. 4 ibuprofen or tylenol just wouldn't do a damn thing, and I couldn't fall asleep because of the pain. Quite exceedingly unpleasant. Fortunately those do not come often anymore.

Other than that......nothing really seems to stand out. Aside from that possible fracture in my toe, I've never broken a bone, nor done anything really risky so as to cause significant injury. (Playing with Tesla Coils and the guts of TVs doesn't count as risky.:))

Two front teeth took a flying leap out of my head, courtesy of a basketball net. Two weeks before I finished fifth grade. *shudder*

I stubbed my pinky toe on a coffee table, and it proceeded to turn purple. Very unpleasant, but that wasn't the most painful..

I was trying to carry a guitar speaker cabinet down a flight of stairs, loss my balance, rolled down the stairs in front of the cabinet, then it came rolling down with all its momentum and landed on my left-hand pinky. The pain was so excruciating that I went into shock and nearly fainted. Afterwards I was dizzy and nauseated. I went to the doctor, and he told me to get a tongue depressor and wrap it up (why on earth did I even come to you????).

I knocked my two front teeth out, too. I was in... I think 2nd grade. It took several years for my permanent teeth to grow in. I was riding my bike and hit something on the sidewalk. Fell face-first over the handle bars... smashed my face on the concrete, one tooth fell out and got lost in the grass nearby. The other one was dangling by a thread of gum tissue and fell out moments later. It was a bloody mess.

Canoeing down the river in the middle of nowhere- rapid pushed our canoe in to a rock which I pushed off of- bad idea. Split my palm wide open, missing that major vein on my wrist by about an inch- the cut was about 2.5 inches and wide open- saw all the white tendons etc- it was pretty gross.
It didnt actually hurt when it happened- I actually didnt know untill the group waiting on the rock island at the bottom of the rapid asked if my wrist hurt- looked down and saw blood everywhere....
The real pain set in as I was getting stitches on a rock island in the middle of the river in the middle of nowhere...not to mention we had 3 more days of canoeing to get anywhere near civilization, so I actually had to *use* that hand the rest of the way.

Thank god I was with my dad (physician) and a group of guys that included an orthopedic surgeon- the surgeon was the one w/ the sutcher kit, and who stitched me up. Otherwise I would have really been fucked.

I make it a point each year when I get to that rock to piss on it.

Really, I don't know... I broke my wrist and sprang my other really bad(it was basically broken but didn't have anything broken... It was useless). I never cried though, so I don't think it was the most painful thing ever... Uh... Really I have no clue. I've developed some kind of weird pain tolerance, I got bashed in the head with a 25lb weight last April(really mother fucking hard) or whatever and it didn't really hurt... I bled everywhere, but no hurt! :D I was basically leaking blood out of my head for the rest of the day... I carried a tissue with me and then people would ask what I was doing and I'd show them the tissue drenched in blood, lol... Expression on their faces were priceless. Anyway, that happened at school and wasn't my fault at all... I was doing these ab things and then came up really fast and dumbass put a weight above my head(he's mentally retarded I swear) and I collided without knowing it there. That justified everything I ever thought about him being stupid as fuck.

Most painful experience to me, was when I was like twelve I got really sick and had some kind of flu and like... yeah, totally fucked me up for 4 days. That was extremely painful. I don't really remember my uber painful experiences, I guess. Anyway, I didn't get to go to the hospital even though I told my mom to take me... She basically said, "No honey, you don't need to go to the hospital"... Yeah, right.. She got what I had and then, next day.. She's at the hospital, I was fucking pissed. I basically didn't eat for 4 days and threw up everything, I think I could have died.

Testicular torsion. Mine would twist and untwist on it's own (it usually requires surgery). So it would feel like getting groin-shotted for an hour straight (the kind of pain that radiates into your abdomin, like around the appendix area). Couldn't stand up straight, went to ER, felt better(untwisted), went in a week later for surgery, and [brought jeans to wear home like a moron.

My BP was 160/110 or something when I came out of surgery, and like every 5mins I was asking for morphine until they wouldn't give me anymore, and it didn't do a damn thing either.

They had to give me scrubs to go home, lol.

:(

Probably the next most painful thing was taking a shower two days later, lol.
