As I just worked 82 hours overtime this week (Holiday helped in that all that time was overtime), I'm curious as to how much you've worked in one or two weeks?

Oh, and I'm off at 4:30 am again tomorrow for another 14 to 16 hour day! :(

Most I ever worked in a week was 112 hours total (72 hours overtime). Did that for three weeks - 16 hours/day, 7 days/week.

About 3 months ago, our shop was very low on work, almost to the point of a layoff. I sorta saw this coming as it always does. The 2 managers were desparate to get work, so they "BOTH" took everything that they could get without consulting the other. They both made promises on equipment that "HAS" to be in production this month or lose hundreds of thousands of dollars. Well, since nobody was in communications, here you go.

I came in to work about 3 weeks ago and was told that I would need to take 4 pieces of equpment, with two stations on each (esentially 8 pieces of equipment) and integrate them into a workcell with a robot doing all the work. I was told it was DUE ON JUNE 1st!!!

I've worked no less than 13 hours each day (actually only one 13 hour day) and up to 17.5 hours. The reason overtime was easier to get was that Monday was a paid holiday and all time on that day was esentially like weekend overtime.

At least I get paid 1.5X for all of those hours! :D

We had one week where a guy was on vacation, another in the hospital, and one that had just transferred, so it was myself and the manager in the store for the week. We both basically worked 12 hours a day, all 7 days. Funny enough it wasn't that bad, long hours, but I normally work 9 hours a day anyways, another 3 isn't so hard, and without the other guys there (who create more problems than they usually fix) it was pretty stress-free.

Plus I had one hell of a paycheck :D

I had 114 hours last week alone. I won't do that many this week as I already took today off....too damn tired!

2nd day off in 4 weeks.

Was told by some of the "oldtimers" there (several backed up the story) that the shop once went to 12 hours per day, 7 days a week for almost 6 straight months. Several worked every single hour. At that time, if they didn't take their vacation, they received a separate check for the vacation days, so many kept right on working and received the vacation checks to go along with all the overtime pay.

On a final note, it doesn't help having 28 people building equipment and two engineers designing and programming all of the control systems! :Q

when the North East had that big blackout a few summers ago I pulled an 80 hour week (one near-24 hour day when the power went out, since they needed people to collect cash from people trying to get on the ferries since the ticket system was out, and the rest of the week was spent counting cash and dealing with pisses off customers who couldn't understand why we were charging people or why there were long lines).

edit: I mean, wtf. sure we were the only way out of the city other than the bridges, where traffic was at a standstill, but just because the power is out doesn't mean that we're suddenly no using up gas or paying our employees.

I used to work all OT offered. I've worked many a 84 hour week.

Seeing how there are only three people in my classification per shift and every one of them needs coverage, I'm offered OT all the time. These days I don't work 12 hours. I'll work the weekends, but I'm too old to work them 12's. Besides, I make too much money as it is.

If I worked all OT offered, I'd break 5 figures. I wouldn't have a life, but my wife would be rich. ;)
