Thinking about getting the 2.8C proc. however, I've heard wonders about the 2.4C
Which would you recommend? mobo will be Abit IC7-MAX3

Your cpu will probably hit a wall before your stock cooling is not effective. I run a 2.8 @ 3.5 with stock cooling. You may need more cooling if you bump the voltage significantly. I would get the 2.8c. It is closer to the 3.2-3.5 most P4s max out at. It will require less of a FSB raise to reach those speeds and I would rather have the higher cpu speed than the higher FSB.Originally posted by: FreshPrince

newegg has them labeled nicely, however, I believe they support 800MHz fsb
btw, how far should I overclock my cpu if all I want to use is the stock heatsink? which heatsink should I consider for maximum overclock-ability? thx

I believe you can only get M0 steppings for 2.4c and 2.8c right now. I haven't heard anyone getting it for 2.6c yet. If you want to hit 300fsb you really need M0 steppings.
I would go for 2.8c myself if you're looking to overclock.
