I once blew a .30 on the breathalyzer at a bar, then we had a few more so I'm sure I went a bit higher. I don't recall many times being more drunk then that. I drove there, but someone else drove us home.

I would doubt you'd be drunker than a .30. That's close to being in an alcohol coma.

I think those bar ones are rigged, i blew .31 a couple of years back.

they are notoriously wrong.

Cue the 'impairment begins with the first drink' responses.

I woke up in my bed after a night of heavy drinking/partying at my buddy's frat house. As I was walking to my university's cafeteria thinking to myself "goddamn now I have to walk over to the frat house to grab my bus," I looked across the parking lot and lo and behold, there was my bus. Definitely didn't remember a lot of the night and driving back. Needless to say I try to avoid getting that drunk now. Banging fat chicks is one thing, but man, driving blacked out drunk...tough to get much worse than that.

Lucky guy!

Same thing happened to me. I would have never drove except for the fact that another person drove us to the bar, and he got smashed and insisted on driving because there was absolutely no way he was going to leave his truck at the bar! So I finially just drove because I know he was about twice as drunk as I was, but I got a reckless driving instead at the DUI checkpoint since I was under the legal limit but apparently the cop wanted to stick it to me anyhow.

Other than that night (for years and years before that incident) I'd never drink if I knew I was going to end up driving. Now I know, never drink unless you know you have a way home, and if someone else insists on driving, just let them and don't try to be a hero. ;)

Awoke the next morning(s) and searched for my car in the various parking lots around the apt. complex until I found it. But, that never happens anymore. **shake's fist at youth**

Edit: # drink wise? Probably lost count, but I could imagine high teens, early twenties in those rare instances.

I didn't know they gave out reckless drivings even if you're under the limit.

I need to rethink my whole "If I have just a couple, im ok."

I've had enough to be drunk before driving

More times than I can count but this was back in the days before MADD and serious penalties. When I was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida it was a boozers paradise. Every liquor store had a drive through lane and they would sell you cocktails by the drink complete with plastic cup with ice and swizzle stick.

I've driven half stoned before if that counts :p
Let's just say that the 5 minute ride felt like 30 minutes.. it felt like the road never ended.

5'6" 115lbs. The one and only time I did it (not that it makes it any more right) was when I was still new to alcohol and one or two bottles of beer would get me going. Had 5 bottles that one night at a bar for someone's going away party, wobbled to my car and rested there for about an hour then drove 15km home. Cops were all over that night, looking back it was very very stupid and lucky of me.

That day, the day prior, two weeks prior, and about couple months after were one of the lowest points in my life. I wished I would've crashed into a pole and just died.

Don't Really have any stories... One time i was pretty drunk at about 11PM, but didnt have anything after that, then at about 2 - 3AM i drove my car about 5 minutes from my friends house to mine, i felt sober but i could feel i had alcohol in me... Must have been over the limit that time.

Theres a funny story about my friend though! He was out clubbing one night, and was WELL drunk, apparently he got in his car, started the engine, fell asleep with the door open, fell out the car into the road, his wallet and phone dropped out his pockets and were on the road.. This was at about 2 oclock, at 5 oclock someone walked past, put his phone and stuff back into the car, switched the car off, locked it and put the key back in my friends pocket.. That was an honest person! Good to know they're still about.

During my junior year in college, my girlfriend (at the time) and I went bowling about 3 miles from my apartment one night. I drank probably 6-7 beers over the course of 2 hours. I was definitely well past the point of where I had any business driving.

We got on the interstate service road which is the road my apartment complex was off of. As soon as I turned on to that road (35mph) I passed a State Trooper who was parked in a little side road area. I was doing probably 45-47mph. He pulled out behind me and hit the blue lights. At that moment, I knew for a fact that I was about to get my first DUI and have my life temporarily ruined. He pulled me over about 1 mile from the entrance to my complex. I was shaking so bad and nearly in tears. He walked up to the window and asked me if I knew how fast I was going and I told him I wasn't sure. He said the speed limit was 35mph and I told him that I thought for sure it was 45mph. I then explained to him that I was almost to my apartment and apologized for driving so fast.

I have absolutely NO idea why he let me go. To this day, I am convinced he knew I had been drinking. You could see it in my eyes, smell it on my breath and hear it in my voice. It was painfully obvious I was pretty drunk. But he must have realized I was a young kid who's life would have been screwed up with a DUI. So not only did he let me go, he didn't even give me a ticket for speeding. But he did follow me very closely the final mile to my apartment complex which was nerve racking because I kept thinking he was going to hit th blue lights again but he never did.

When I got home, I vowed that night to NEVER drink more than two beers before getting behind a wheel. That was in 1994 and to this day, I have kept to word. Even if I'm somewhere for several hours, I still won't drink more than two beers if I'm driving. I feel like I was given 2nd chance that night and I'm not going to blow it. Just not worth it.

Cliffs:

1. Drove drunk one night
2. Got pulled for speeding by a State Trooper less than 1 mile from home
3. Cop let me go, despite knowing I had been drinking
4. Learned a valuable lesson and haven't driven drunk since

I've only driven while totally sloshed once. It was pretty bad. Stumbled out of a bar with a buddy, we had each downed 3 long island iced teas in that last hour plus whatever else. We got back to my truck, and somebody had left a turd on top of my front wheel, inside the wheelwell. Silly drunks. Anyway, I wasn't exactly sober enough to think otherwise, so I picked it up with my bare hand and threw it off to the side, and proceeded to drive home. The next day I couldn't understand why my steering wheel smelled like sh!t. Literally.

I pulled over once and passed out on the side of the road. When I woke up in the morning, there was puke down the side of my car.

I have never even had an alcoholic beverage....but I have driven (a motorcycle) several times while stoned. Didn't affect my ability to drive at all. And it was mostly 5 mile rides from my friend's place back to mine some where between midnight and sunrise.

My youth was filled with stupidity that could have got me killed a bunch of times. Now that I'm an old f*rt, I won't drive if I have more than 1 drink.....

There's no need for me to drink and drive, it can cause folks to be disoriented and confused.
