$550 canon SLR upon deboarding a plane in Frankfurt Germany. We had bought it on Amex 2 weeks earlier and they allowed us to go buy another one in Salzburg Austria the next day. Nice protection.

You realize you posted the same thing earlier in this thread?

$289 msd distributor and about $300 in CDs at the same time. I let someone borrow something from my car and they left the door unlocked!

I had a radar detector, CD player, amp, subs, and a book with about 50 some CDs in it stolen back in 2001 that was worth $1,800. Now I'm content with my factory radio and an add-on XM tuner that I can stash away.

What about you?

Why didn't you bring it with you ? Bikes can have better theft protection than cars.

Because you can't always bring a bike inside. If there are bike racks outside and it's locked properly, that's about as much as you can do in most situations.

Somebody stole my Cherokee. I eventually got it back, but it was totaled. It was about 2 feet shorted, they must have hit a wall. I only carried liability (it was 14 years old) so I got nothing back for it.

And how many bikes do that and how many people own those types of bikes, especially college students?

I admit, if you have a folding bike, it is an option, but we go back to the initial set of questions. I'm assuming the OP didn't have one.

Had my wallet lifted the first 20 minutes I was in Barcelona.
Still managed to have a good time that night.

Lost two credit cards, ID, and about 50 bucks in cash.

Also had about 100,000 stolen from me over the years in taxes, at least thats how I feel about my tax dollars.

Thats why when they buy a bike they should get this option a lot of folding bikes now a days have the same great ride as bikes that do not fold. This one is perfect for a lot of people because some don't like if a folding bike looks like it can. It gives the appearance of a normal bike. Plenty more out there. You don't have to pay in $1000s either. Plenty in the range of the OP price of $380 some even less or more. Just depends what you want.

a bunch of cd's from my car and my wallet while at the gym, they cut every lock in the place and stole everybodies stuff.

Twas a time in my life when the law and I weren't always in total agreement on things...and I had occasion to spend a few "vacation days" in their fine hotels. One time, when I FINALLY got out, I returned home to find that my ex-girlfriend (and some of her junkie buddies) had cleaned my apartment for me...cleaned it totally out...furniture, stereo, TV, my monstrous collection of record albums, (this was in the day before CD's....all vinyl) every thing. Even most of my clothes were gone...

A binder of Xmen collectible cards. The 1995 Fleer edition. I had every single one and some misprints.

~150 neglected and somewhat scratched CDs out of a compartment of my SUV when I was in college. This was around the peak time of Napster and I had just received my first broadband off-campus, so all was well.

You realize that 99.9% of bikes don't fold in half right? Even that would be obscene to bring into a classroom. We really need a big fucking idiot rule where mods can ban people like you.
