Toyota camry from my mecahnics shop.. i had just bought the car with cash and i didnt get it insured yet (not road worthy no need to insure in MS) it had a bad tranny and couldnt drive it so it was there to get fixed... he fixes it the day later its gone... 🙁 it took me years to get over it.

How is it handled in that case? The shop had to pay back through their insurance?

I often wonder because they leave those cars unlocked all the time.

My £350 ($700) bike, followed by the £300 ($600) replacement bike ~30 months later.
Second one was insured though, so my second replacement should arrive soon-ish.

I had a Ninja that was stolen. I got a knock on the door about 2am and the cop was interviewing me asking me if I gave anyone permission to ride it etc. while his radio was giving me the play by play of the high speed chase the other cops were involved in with the guy that jacked it. He ended up laying it down and doing some pretty good damage.

I got it all repaired and back to new looking and then about 2 months later.....it got jacked again! This time, a security guard was able to stop it before it was taken off property and they guys had a chance to crash it.

I haven't really had anything taken from me except maybe a pen or something 😛. I'm super protective of my stuff and rarely let anyone touch my expensive things. Now some fine wimmenz? They can touch my goods whenever they want 😎.

Years ago, I was getting ready to go to college orientation for the upcoming semister and saw that my car door was open. They took about $1k worth of stereo stuff, CD's, etc. In time I heard some rumors that it was 3 guys I went to school with that stole it all, 2 brothers and a friend of theirs. Fast forward a few years, and I found out that one of them died in a car accident... haha loser.

IPod Nano. For some reason (probably just me being plain stupid) I stashed it away in my backpack's outside pocket. Was ripe for picking...

My 155" K2 Dart snowboard (and my friend who I was snowboarding with got her's stolen at the same time). We walked into the lodge to change as we were getting ready to leave, and when we walked out our boards were gone. I'm guessing someone watched us go in and then just grabbed them as soon as we were inside.

Filed a police report and all that, and we eventually got them covered under homeowner's insurance. My board was worth about $300, her's a bit more.

My car, last month.

1999 Honda Civic EX coupe, red, manual transmission, ~130k miles, awesome condition (other than a cracked bumper I was going to replace this summer). I only had liability, so I got owned. It was worth at least $5k if not more (KBB was $7k, but that's imho not realistic). I was pretty bummed, my cars are the world to me...they haven't even found a shell yet.

When I was in college, someone stole a $200 TV out of my storage space in the attic. Little did they know one of the colors no longer worked, so everything was blue. They just saved me from having to haul that heavy TV down to the dumpster at the end of the year. Suckers.

It was a Zenith... I really liked that TV.

my 97 integra gs-r... over christmas weekend in NYC.
they say that in ny, if you don't find your car within 30 min... it's not going to get found.

About 9 years ago I had a sweet Sony minidisc player stolen while I was sleeping at a weekend wrestling tourney.

Despite the evidence to the contrary.

Eh I'm a male in my mid-20's in NJ, I wished I could have max insurance on all my cars but it's just not practical here. 🙁

About a year ago I got rid of comprehensive, figured if repairs needed to be made for any reason I'd shell the money out. Obviously, I did not take theft into account.....

$550 canon SLR upon deboarding a plane in Frankfurt Germany. We had bought it on Amex 2 weeks earlier and they allowed us to go buy another one in Salzburg Austria the next day. Nice protection.
