What's the most dishonest thing you've seen at a retail store?

Worst thing I've done is steal a piece of candy from the bulk-bin... Another may be returning 4 pairs of sunglasses at Sunglass Hut because I honestly hated all of them after I wore them outside the store -- fully intended to keep each pair. Whatever, ended up buying and keeping two pairs.

Some really cheap person I know recently broke his hip. He only needed a wheelchair or walker until it healed, so he bought one and returned it. The guy is loaded. Cheap bastard.

I don't know if this is dishonest or not:

I don't normally shop at large retail stores but this past Christmas I decided that I wanted to get a tree. I went to Target and found the one I wanted but they had none left. Three Target's later I found one that was in stock so I bought it, lights, ornaments, everything.

Two days later I had to go back for another string of lights and noticed that the trees and Christmas stuff was now on 'Clearance' and 30% off. I went to customer service and asked if I could get a price adjustment since I just bought the tree two days ago, they said no we can't do that on clearance items.

So I went back to the Christmas department with my receipt and found everything I bought before, the tree, lights, whole deal. Went to the checkout and got everything with the 30% off plus whatever $10 off deal they were doing as compensation for their credit card breach.

After I paid I pushed the cart 20 feet to customer service and returned all the new stuff I bought with the old receipt to the same customer service representative. Saved about $100.

Personally I wouldn't consider that being dishonest, as long as the sunglasses were still in good shape and they could still sell them. If they were damaged then I might consider it wrong to do, depending on how they were damaged.

I guess technically that was dishonest, but I don't think it was too bad, especially compared to some of the other stuff in this thread. You did try to get the discount legitimately first, and they didn't really lose anything from what you did. You essentially just bought it on "pre-clearance". lol

They were in perfect condition and I took them back within days of deciding they sucked, so it wasn't a use it and return it. Thinking back, it was just dumb.

Wow, at the people that volunteered their own douchebaggery and scummy lives.

Explains a lot of their posts here.
YES>> I have a friend who always goes into grocery stores with a bag.. in the bag is an envelope full of coupons. Once this pattern is established over time they grab small items and place then in the envelope using the bag as a shield from cameras and or store detectives... What a lousy thing to do :whiste:
The ironic part is the person has plenty of denaro, decent home and a very nice car.

I've noticed though that it seems like the poor people who you could kinda understand needing to steal, usually don't. It's the people that have money and don't need to steal who are thieves. Of course I'm not including junkies that steal to support their habit, that's a whole other animal. lol

I'm not sure how to respond to that. I think you need to take a bath in near-boiling water to clean yourself, but I don't know how to scrub the filth off your soul from entering that house of evil.

bought a insignia tv which turned out to be total crap, took it back.
you suck best buy.

When i was young, sports authority used to mark hockey sticks with a sticker that you could easily peel off and replace. Had some > $100 sticks for cheaper.

These days I won't even lie about my kids' ages to get them in cheaper.
