What's the most common Duron overclock?

Currently I have a CeleronII 633@950 on a Abit BE6-II and I'm thinking about upgrading to a AMD based system sometime in the future. My question is, which Duron has the best price/overclock ratio? And should I go for a Thunderbird instead? I know this subject has probably been beaten into the ground, but don't flame me please. :)

Mr. C, imho the 600 Duron is the overclocking king. As for a tbird, my 600 duron@977 w/64megs pc133 runs about the same times on seti as my 800@872 tbird w/128megs pc100.

600 Definatly.

Mine does 1003 without any probs at all and its only got an old FEP32 (Its actually an FDP32 but I had to cut it down)

Probly squeeze a bit more out of it with a better HS

How did you guys cooling this thing ? and how about the voltage setting ?

My 600 duron can't get any higher than 900 which is very HOT

Qzruh, what heatsink fan are you using. Beleave it or not, durons are not that hard to keep cool.

Fastvideo - you're insane! :)

Oh yeah, the topic. Got my 700 running a 1.0Ghz @ 1.775V - can probably go lower on the voltage. Will probably try to go higher on the cpu range, as I've had it at 1.05, but decided to "break it in" a bit before I went much higher. Thought about seeing how low I could go on the voltage while running at 1.0.

To answer the question - all of them are the most common to overclock. However, the bigger gains %-wise are seen with the lower speed chips. If you're going for overclocking, you'll see better gains in the Duron line. Just remember, motherboard and cooling make a huge difference...also a good power supply.

I had a D600 run stable at 900MHz. I'm now using a D700 that's stable at 1083MHz. Click the link to my rig for the rest of the components.
