In high school, I used to work for a microfiche company. One group of people spent their whole time taking staples out of documents and the other group would photograph the documents to microfiche.

How would you like to operate a punch press with the same exact thing over and over again? Insert a small copper piece into punch press, press down on pedal to operate press, it stamps a hole through the copper, repeat 50000 times. It not only is incredibly boring, you never get to quit. Once you finish a box of them, you just pull another box over and repeat the process. Wooooo.

At least you go to work knowing you'll have something to do

I'd rather stare at a wall. At least I could be left to my thoughts and day dream somewhat. I can't day dream on a punch press or I'd never put the part in the correct position to punch it 😛

Wine bottle turner. You spend your life in cellars of a vintner and give the bottles a quarter turn, bottle after bottle, rack after rack, day after day. It is supposed to keep the sediment in suspense.

My job.. I work at a cheese factory. Basically the assembly-line repetitive stuff mentioned earlier. Everything I do could be done by a machine.I'd describe further but it'd just bore you to death.

edit: what is funny is there is observation room. I see customers come to watch us work and they usually bail after a minute or two, if not sooner. and we were featured on the nightly news, that poor reporter, it must've been a slow news day.

I worked in a UPS hub, it was easily the most boring job I have ever had. I am not sure how I could accurately judge how boring a job is without doing it.

I'm my work we have a machine to test memory (SDRAM and DDR), it tests around 1 stick every 10 seconds and sticks needs to be manually loaded and classified in different boxes, we literally had thousands of pounds of mixed memory.

At least i didn't have to do it 😉.
