What's the most "Balanced" graphics card ?

Some cards have excellent 3D but poor 2D ,and the other way around.
In your opinion, what card hits the perfect balance ?

There is no such thing as a perfect balance, but the Radeon lines come close.

EDIT for the heck of it. Oh balanced!, I see, well when put on top of a pencil....(sorry had to, long night (not) reading for finals )
 
Ti200/Ti500

apparently now there is no difference in 2d quality yet NVidia still dominates the 3d scene, so the Ti series are better IMO. ATI has poor compatibility every time i've used one..

Poor drivers combined with poor stability and a feature set that "will be fixed next driver release". Add to the lets optimize for 3-4 games and forget the rest attitude. Sure most of us play a small number of games but I do like to play a large variety of games. The Radeon is a very very very poor choice.

A GeForce3 Ti200 is THE best choice. Excellent drivers excellent value. Excellent 2D and 3D. All you need to do to get the best 2D is pick the proper Ti200.

btw, on a side by side, the visiontek looks better than radeon in 2d AND 3d

Depends on whether you consider price as being part of the balance. If you do, then yes, i would say that the Radeon LE gets the nod as the most balanced card out there. If you don't, then i'll agree with those saying the Ti200. It all depends on how you define "balance" i suppose.

I've seen both the Radeon and a Ti 500 side by side.
As far as looking at them, they both had excellent 2d. I couldn't see any difference.
The 3D though was a different matter. The Ti seemed to have a richer color and definition of the scenes textures looked better. BUT that is completely subjective as my opinion may diferent than someone else's.

The deciding factor should really be who is more compatible.
That would go to the Ti 500.
Ati's drivers throughout the last several years have left a lot to be desired in 3d. Granted they are trying hard with the Radeon line, but in my experience the nVidia cards offer more support.
 
If price is a concern, I recommend the Geforce 2 GTS-V. It has good 3d performance and it works wonderfully on my monitor at 1024x768x16x85 (I do 16bit bc I can't see the difference between 16 and 32 bit). I got it for $62 from Lynn Computer. Nice card 😎
 
A little smoke RE: ATI Drivers, but no flaming yet. I'm impressed.

anyone who says Radeon over Geforce 3 Ti series is smoking crack, lots of crack.

Looks like I well balanced card to me.

Edit: What the hell, I just installed my 8500 and there's no Video In anymore. Damn.
Not that I ever used it for a real purpose, but it was a fun toy.
 
The Leadtek GF3 are supposed to have great 2d, while the other vendors still use poor quality filters. The GTS cards suck for 2d, the GF3s are far superior in 2d compared to the GF2s.

I still think the 8500 is the best overall card, it has a lot of stuff on the board, for a good price. Dual monitor and tv out is always useful for me.
Both cards have great 3d performance, and people claiming radeon driver issues generally don't own them, and are just spewing crap.
