Tastes good in a different sort of way though...There's no real substitute for bacon 🙂

I agree... pork > turkey in the bacon page of my book.

i love bacon. i usually cook a few strips nice and crispy, and a few just on the done side but the fat still nice and chewy.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I don't understand how people can eat it when it's really crispy...it tastes burnt.

Yeah, i like my soggy. Infact, i use to just put a bag of it in a tupperware and microwaved it for about 8 mins... bacon gets cooked in it's own grease, and it comes out nice and floppy. Get some crusty bread and put some bacon in a chunk, and dip the bread into the grease mmmmm

Louis Rich turkey bacon is ok, but Jennie-O turkey bacon is dry and nasty. I usually eat only turkey bacon, but I will admit pork bacon is by far better than any turkey bacon - just like a hamburger is by far better than a turkey burger.

What's the best way to get really nice crispy bacon? I'm guessing cooking it in a conventional oven. I'm just not sure what temperature to cook it at.

Have to cook bacon in the oven. Microwaving it is just not good. When you cook it in the oven, it's good to flip the bacon and drain the grease (believe me, it will still be damn crispy/greasy)

mmmm, bacon

bacon and peanut butter sammiches are the great.

first the bacon needs to be crispy,
then toast the bread and spread the peanut butter on it while its still hot, so the peanut butter melts a little, then put about 10 pieces of bacon 5 on each side, crush the sides together, the bacon fuses with the peanut butter in a medley of deliciousness.

I once ate an entire large packet. I just kept making trips to the microwave back and forth. Damn it's good stuff. Anyway, I like it so cooked that it's basically burned and NO fat is sizzling on it.

mmm, bacon. *drool*

i've switched over to turkey bacon so I can get my fix without dying. good, but regular bacon is better.

 bacon. especially when its between 2 pieces of toasted bread and is accompanied by lettuce, tomato, and avocado (salted of course).

The bacon at my school's cafeteria sucks; it's not even crispy.

thats not bacon my friend, its more likely textured soy protein. 😉

oh and to JDub, doesnt turkey bacon have more salt because of the little flavor that turkey naturally has (because it has less "fat" and fat is what gives meats its flavors), or are turkey and regular cured teh same way?

The most I've ever eaten in one sitting is a rasher.

Extra crispy... "I like it salutin' not wavin' "<--What my dad tells the waitresses...

25 pounds just this morning! And I'm doing just fine. My left arm gets shooting pains like that all the time. Also, I taste copper...

😛

Honestly, maybe half a package.
