Has to be sex. Billions of people do it everyday.
Something's not the most addictive just because many people do it. Driving, watching TV, listening to music, etc. are all things that billions of people do every day.
I'd have to go outside the mold and say acceptance/approval. This would go along the lines of succumbing to peer pressure, keeping up with the Joneses, aspiring to fit a certain image, etc. Here's my support for that. People spend tons of time and money on appearance in order to get acceptance/approval from others. The biggest financial decisions (house and car) are often based on what other people think rather than the individual's desires. In order to gain acceptance/approval, people will go so far as to not be themselves and do things that they would not do on their own.
