Stop shopping the Atom-powered bargain bin and get a real machine. A $700-$1k laptop with a modern 45w CPU will blow the doors off of those old dinosaurs.

I have I5's and i7 laptops. I was simply saying what is enough. I wouldn't touch an atom with a 10ft pole. I have a Thinkpad x130e with a celeron, but I have a bakers dozen or more thinkpads sitting around. I was going to say that I never had a celeron but the x130e has one.

I'm not familiar with the Acer - there is a solid reddit section (https://www.reddit.com/r/chromeos/) for chromebooks where you can probably get more details.

You can use a USB-C to HDMI adapter (which is what my parents use when they "dock" their Samsung CB Plus; ~$25 on Amazon - be careful if you want 4k @ 60hz to get one that specifically handles that. 1080p/1440p no worries at 60hz for any.)
(My Mom has a ~2015 Toshiba Chromebook; my Dad the Samsung.)

They both think they're wonderful, fast and easy to use. Be careful getting feedback on these machines from gearheads. But also understand Chrombooks limitations.

BTW I have nothing against Chromebooks but the hardware on the one in the link was not worth the asking price. If it cost $250 or less it would worth consideration.

If someone just loved the Chrome OS they could install it on better hardware.

That Staples Dell has much better hardware for less money, I'm a bit surprised that fellow forum members are not backing me up on this.
