what's the minimum internet connection speed to take advantage of VOIP?

Vonage says something like 96Kbps is needed for its service. I think that latency plays the biggest role in how VOIP will work. If you have stable, low pings, you should be good to go.

That's fvcking ridiculous. You can stream 128kbps MP3s that are near CD quality using, well, 128kbps. Phone quality is significantly less than that.
