What's the max XP+ CPU on the K7S5A?

What is the maximum XP CPU that the Elite K7S5A Mobo can support without overclocking?

The AMD site says XP1900+.
The ECS site says XP2000+ if the PCB Ver. is 1.1/3.1A.

Is anybody out there using it with the XP2000+?

TIA

It should be running any speed grade of Athlon XP, as long as the power supply unit can feed the beast. You want lots of +5V juice coming from there, else it won't be stable.

ECS CPU compatibility chart (from www.pcwave.com or www.pcware.com, can't remember) says no XPs on PCB revisions 1.0 and 1.0A, and up to 2000+ on 1.1 or newer. Note, that chart is from February, there was no 2100+ at the time, so chances are that works as well.

Hey Peter:

R U talking about the +5Vsb or the +5V?
I have an Antec 400W, model PP412X.

I seem to remember reading someplace that the important ones are +5V & +3.3V combined output, mine has 245W on that one.

TIA

Well, I checked my PS & it has 2.0A min on the +5V, so I guess it will be OK 🙂.

THANKS Pete.
