What's the max temp for Dual-Cores

I'm running my E6300 stably at 400 x 10 at 1.4V with a stock HS/fan.

Is 1.4V safe?

For C2D, nominal voltage is 0.85V ? 1.5V, so the voltage should be safe. Max temp is 61.4C so make sure you don't exceed that.

For the 45nm Pentium Dual Core E6300:

1.4V would be slightly outside of the specs. It can however tolerate a higher temp of 74.1C.

Temp is at 34C after playing Call of Duty.

That's way into safe, if your max load temp is 34C, you're nowhere near heat-damage range.

Thanks for the links, they were helpful. I dropped the core voltage to 1.3625. Lets see if it runs stable.

I'm a little surprised at the temp since I'm using a stock HS/fan.

I'm getting the temp off the sofware from my Gigabyte motherboard.

How reliable is that?

NOT AT ALL RELIABLE.

CPU temps can, and do, change 10°c per second or more.

By the time you get to the bios any temperature event is long gone.

I'm really surprised Intel went to a tenth significant digit. Seems to be 99.5% irrelevant.

Thanks. I installed core temp. Temp at idle is 37C. Running NovaBench, the temp spikes to 65C.
