Haha bad mental image, I'll say no more.

Actually I should have jumped on last week's Compaq Presario 1500T for $1,049 loaded with an Intel Celeron 1.4 GHz CPU, 14.1" XGA TFT Display, 256MB RAM, 20GB, 8x DVD, Radeon 7500 32MB, LION battery, floppy, AND free carrying case.

Damn that was jizm spurtin' hot but I resisted the urge.

My laptop (Toshiba S304) has been on for about a month now.. on battery power! (heh) .. but it has been on for a month

It gets pretty hot, though, so I've been a little scared to have it run Seti.. but I'm definately considering it

Back when I had a laptop, I think the longest uptime it had was about 50 days. It has a built in UPS, of course it stayed on all the time.

3-4 months, it runs Win 98, so who can tell? Ever since the last power outage that lasted longer than the battery life, which is about 10 minutes these days (the rig is three years old).

according to my system idle time right now.. its been on for 320 hours straight so far without being turned off or reset or put in stand by. i've had it over 400 hours before... but usually withen that amount of time i end up reseting it.

its on 24 hours a day everyday though.

i love my laptop

one day, i figure the cpu fan must be hard to replace:p if it goes bad that would really suck.

the longest it has been without restarting is 7 days. but since i never did hard restarts, technically they've been on at one time for 1 month. i didnt have a desktop at the time but i treated it like one. i never took it anywhere since i had every periphal you can think of hooked up to it. it was a compaq presario w/ AMD k6-2 333, 160MB RAM. anyways, i did this all the time for about 2.5 years, and the heat generated shortened the life of the laptop. its now technically dead. RIP 1999-2001

If you guys are giving non-restarting figures than I must say that's pretty gosh darn impressive. Longest I've left mine on w/o restarting was about 14-15 days. It got so unbearably slow and choppy at that point that I was forced to restart :(

Mine's been running for about 3 months, not counting shutdowns for upgrades or transporting it. BTW, I don't let it go to sleep (not counting the LCD). The longest its gone without being restarted is over 300 hours.

23 days and 7 hours, without a reboot. Not bad for Win98se ;)

Not counting reboots, I don't know..months. It was used as an ICS system.

My brothers, sister constantly leave my I8k on, and now the LCD Inverter is bad... I'm not positive it's because of that, but I'm sure it's from heat.

I dual boot it with Linux and Win2K so always have to reboot when switching OS.
And still haven't figured out how to do the suspend ore hiberate in Linux yet...... so my longest uptime right now is like 3 to 4 hours.
