about 47 1/2. took a trip to LA, got up at 6am on a Thursday,2 flights, excited about being there, finally crashed at BIL's house at 29 Palms on base about 4-430am on Saturday morning. Slept 3 hours then back at it.

Right around 20 hrs I thought I was gonna die, then about 24-30 felt like brand new.

wierd feeling.

Something like 2.5 to 3 days during the summer. I was around 12 or so probably. I just couldn't sleep! I would lay there, and my body/mind would not 'slow down'. So I just got up and watched TV and walked around the block a bunch of times. This was in the late 70's, during the time of the 'kathunk, kathunk, kathunk' TV manual channel changer w/13 channels (most of the channels would sign off around midnight, then static/snow), and no videogames. I do sort of remembering the last part of it I was just 'there', not really feeling anything, just kinda along for the ride....lol. I still have bouts of insomnia once in a while, but nothing remotely like back then.

Hmm come to think of it I've never pulled off anything crazy as far as lack of sleep. The worse I can think of is my high school grad party. We crashed at someone's house and it was suppose to be an all nighter yet everyone brought sleeping bags. I was kinda like wtf since I did not bring mine and people were offering me blankets and stuff but I refused. I was determined to in fact pull this all nighter, and I did. Went to bed at 10:00pm the day after, so assuming I must of got up at around 7:00am the day of the grad party, I'll go ahead and say approx 40 hours. Nothing really that impressive, but w/e. I was not that tired when I went to bed but I had no reason to stay up so ended up going. I probably could have ended up pulling another if I really wanted to but then it would of been harder. The first one was not really that hard as long as I kept myself busy and did not just sit and watch TV or something. We were all a bunch of friends together so time went by quick.

I think the longest I ever went was 72 hours or so, but I probably passed out for a little while at some point in that spree. I don't remember having a reason for it, either - I think I just wanted to see how long I could go.

Probably about 30 hours. I've done this many times.

I was in the midst of a 30 hour waking period until about 10 minutes ago when my professor e-mailed me saying he extended the due date on the paper I have due tomorrow.

Never that long. I'm a master of micronapping, so I usually pull off multiple 5-20 minute naps, minimum, before I ever break more than 30 hours without sleep.

I did it for as long as I could once... I think I got to the third day and couldnt make it any more...

It was like, 50-60 hours.

When I was a bit younger I used to average about 3-4 hours a sleep a night and I was fine... never felt tired or like I needed more sleep, everyone told me it was unhealthy but I thought it was aweseom :p

Bullshit. It's possible you think you were awake the whole time, but you weren't.

If you're referencing microsleeps, they can't really be accounted for, so that we really verify the longest a person has stayed awake without the person being attached to a piece of machinery for the entire time.

I'm a light weight. If I say up too long I start getting really cranky. I've done 24 hours tones of times. But the longest would only be about 35-38 hours or so a few years back after a super long plane flight.

Pulled 3 consecutive all-nighters. I started hallucinating toward the end. I still remember having a flashlight in my hand - as I waved it around, a little ball of light circled it like a moon going around the earth.

I've heard lots of stories of people staying up these kinds of hours on back to back shifts but I always wonder what use are you to anyone at the point!? Was this hourly pay? Must have been nice overtime if so!

98hrs on a 5 day meth binge
an alien transmission began communicating to me that I was blessed with the supreme coup de gras cornhole that I needed to display out my front window as a holy relic.

27 hours while in college. I did something I swore I'd never do and pull an all-nighter for a final.
I swore I'd never do it either, and made it til senior year before it happened. I was up 30+ hours once pulling an all-nighter to finish up an engineering school project (among other things) during finals week. The dickhead professor changed it up/added shit with a day or two's notice, completely fucking over the people who thought they already had it done and were planning to study/work on other stuff. The slackers who put it off actually came out ahead on that one.

Pulling all-nighters for tests, where you have to perform and *think* the next day, is almost always utter stupidity. There are plenty of majors where you can get away with that though, where the bulk of your college grades come from rote memorization and multiple-choice regurgitation.

Around 40, give or take a few. Throw in an hour long nap and I can think of one or two times where I crossed 50.

IIRC, hours 20-25 are the hardest, by 25-30 you have adjusted to things, then the approach to 35 becomes unbearable. By the time you hit a bed, you don't really feel sleepy and are convinced you could easily go another couple of hours. Close your eyes for a few seconds and you are out like a light. Or something like that.
