14 books, and each book is pretty long too. 3.7 million words, 10,529 pages.

I stopped after book 7 or 8 when the series had turned into a confusing soap opera in a fantasy setting.
Get the audiobooks. It's much better listened to than read.

A better question: what's the longest necro?
Someone reanimated a rotting corpse from 2002 not too long ago. I'd link to it for laughs but I can't find it now so I think the mods zapped it to avoid people (repeatedly) reviving it.

IIRC the series of unfortunate events has 14 books (i havent read the books since I was in elementary school, but I think the last book has a secret final book in the end of it.) <-- Spoiler alert in case anyone wanted to read the series

This isn't it, I've seen more than a decade.

As for the original question, some of the mens book series like The Executioner (Mack Bolan) or The Destroyer (Remo Willims) have run forever using ghost writers. The Destroyer series was about 150 books when it finally crapped out and AFAIK the Executioner books have over 400 in the original line and close to 200 in spinoffs. 600 books on a single character.

The Robotech books reached 21. It is the longest series of books I have read and I did it in the official timeline order.

was it the women vs. computers thread that i cultivated back in the fusetalk days when threads archived after 6 months?

edit: there's a thread here from 2000 that was bumped 15 years later but is now locked :(
