What's the longest amount of time you can spend just studying?

Studying with a reasonable amount of concetration that is. Not with the TV on and whatnot. Focus is entirely on whatever you are studying.

Ugh... more studying to do for me 🙁 (EuroCiv and OChem finals tomorrow 🙁)

I can usually go 1-2 hours and then go for a small break and then continue.

an hour or two. I need to take short breaks (like 5 minutes to stand up, stretch, get something to drink, or whatever) in order to maintain my focus... otherwise I just get lost and stop absorbing information.

I've gone all night with breaks throughout. Little walks for 5-10 minutes every couple of hours seems to keep the sanity, but that was only during finals week when I had some serious catching up to do.

Every couple of hours I get up and walk around for a bit. Gives me a chance to decompress, and helps with my retention.

6+ hours...I think my longest is from 6AM to like 4PM, only to stop to eat lunch for about 30 minutes, but I studied as I ate.. . .
Studying for really long periods of time seems normal...

you just get really tired in the end tho 😛

i try to get up though and walk around...but when you focus 3 hours goes by just like that - I'd rather just take a walk for a minute and not crunch over the desk and squish my organs but I keep forgetting 😉

i never studied for a test for more than 2 hours when I was in school. Usually I broke that two hours up over a span of a few days, so like 30 minutes at a time. I took breaks to drink heavily.

Usually 1 hour sessions with small breaks in between. During dead week however, it's a whole other story.

too true...especially when you haven't studied post-midterm or gone to half the lectures 😛

...wait my finals start on friday. what am i doing in ATOT? 😕

i never studied more than 1-2 hours a day at any point in college. i graduated with honors in major and honors in college. that doesn't count time spent on assignments, though. i'm talking book cramming.

Depends on the person, and depends on the subject. I have been able to focus well for long periods of time, and others have trouble focusing for longer than a few minutes at a time. That said, I can more easily focus on subjects I'm interested in. If I'm not interested in something, I can have difficulty focusing on it, whereas someone else might be able to focus on it without any difficulty.

Now, maybe 20 mins.

During my second year of medical school near finals and my board exams I studied for 2 months 8-12 hours a day. Not 100% straight of course I ate, slept and used the restroom but not much break time.
