I like foobar2000 too, but I'm pissed off at a recent Windows Update killing the Kernel Streaming option :disgust:

(Now I use it without that)

I have coolplayer now and it's taking 7 megs. Unfortunately it cannot run in "mini" mode up top, like winamp can and if I run a bunch of files at once it keeps spawning more instances instead of intelligently queuing them, but 7 megs is better than 170. Thanks! I may try foobar, too now.

I personally have been using KMPlayer recently. I've tried a few different players recently and I've come to like this one. When minimized, mem usage is around 5 mb, when window is open roughly 10-15 mb mem usuage. It can also play mp3s that are in a zip file. Here's a link: http://www.kmplayer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12142. It also pretty much plays any media file out there as well.

I'm pretty sure there's an option in coolplayer to disable multiple instances of the program running. As for the mini mode, you can download new skins like this, this, or this. It doesn't seem like coolplayer support the mini mode natively. As for your the queuing problem I have no friggin clue because I just got this program yesterday when I ran into this thread. :)

After years of using winamp I'm ready to move on to something new. I've tried foobar and it's okay. You can customize foobar up the wazoo. I've seen some wicked layout. But it requires some work to get it the way you want it. Coolplayer is showing a lot of promise so far. It works with minimal fuss.
