I have a couple sitting around that I haven't had time in the last week to mess with yet.

Looking to install one on my CUSL2, bmg's tips in a prior thread sound good to follow.

But how is the performance of these things panning out? Seems like there is divided opinion ...
 
Although I'm disappointed by the performance compared to my PEP66 (not even in the same league as far as temps go, & it won't run my P3 700 at 1001 like the PEP66 will), I like it. It runs my 700e @ 966 1.7V perfectly, and it's a HELL of a lot quieter & smaller than the PEP66. I intend to pick up another one for a second CPU in my dualie system that I want to build.

I'd recommend it to anybody, but only if they can afford it. If they can't, there are cheaper units out there that perform well too.

Well, I finally got around to working with one on my CUSL2 (following bmg's tips) and though it is very quiet, I am not thrilled with the difficulty of installation factor on this mobo.

Anybody wanna buy an extra A.C.? I have two more, $32 each. They cost $38-40 or so from Avnet (the Agilent distributor), but they're out of stock for a few weeks, last I heard.

They're a bitch to install on a lot of mobos/slockets. Agilent is supposedly looking into re-working the clip to work with common boards. I had to shave the lugs on my MSI slocket to get it to fit, & on my IWILL it ground a nice groove into one of the capacitors.

I think I'll give Agilent a call, maybe they will swap me once they have a redesigned clip.

Well, at least the thermal pad came off easily ... 😉
 
Ha, the thermal pad was a joke to remove. Can we say paper towel & a fingernail?

I dunno about the swap for a better clip, I know they're having trouble with breakage on them. They're swapping those for sure. Way I see it is they're a pain to put on, but they're not comin' off for a long time if ever, so who cares?

Midnight Rambler - I'll buy one of your extra Artic Coolers, assuming it's still brand new. The first 3 I got from Avenet are working great and I've got 2 more on order (and who knows when they'll arrive). Let me know if you still want to sell one and I'll paypal you the funds.
