what's the last book you've read?

last book: The Little Prince. finished it yesterday... I've got one of those lists of like the hundred best books of all time as chosen by some guy and every couple months I like to check one off. enjoyable read, though the ending left me feeling kinda sad and emo for reasons I can't quite place.

currently reading: Who Censored Roger Rabbit, the book that inspired the movie, though it's a lot darker... first book I haven't read off of my kindle since December.

Last Book: Hawkmoon - Michael Moorcock
Reading now: The Eternal Champion - Michael Moorcock

Need to expand my authors. Everytime I visit the book store I am always drawn to certain authors and I need to branch out.

I haven't read Who Censored Roger Rabbit in a dozen years, but to this day I still remember the ending of that book...

Such a fine work, I may have to pick it up again.

Last book - one of the Wheel of Time series. Current book, the next in the Wheel of Time series. 😛

Last book: Pride and Prejudice
Current book: Nothing really. Mostly a Molecular Thermodynamics textbook. Sort of thumbing through certain books of the Bible, but that's hard to read all at once. The next book on my list to read is Crime and Punishment - I'll probably start it during Spring Break. It's easier to read books when I'm on a break or the start of a quarter. By the end of the quarter, the last thing I want to do a lot of times is pick up another book after reading so much other stuff during the week.

Last book: The Alton Gift, by (the late) Marion Zimmer Bradley and Deborah J. Ross
Current Book: Matter, by Iain Banks

Read completely?
I cant even remember. It was years ago.

Reading now?
5 or 6, but the one I seem to be making the most progress with is Jack Cashill's "Whats the Matter with California?"

Its a pretty good book, even though he jumps back and forth between unbiased objectivity and hard-ass Rush Limboughism. But as I've always found if you disagree with something its probably making you think.

Last: Shadow Warriors: Inside The Special Forces by Tom Clancy, Carl Stiner & Tony Koltz.
Next: not sure yet.

Last book: the bro code.
Currently: brocabulary.
Waiting to arrive: the game.
I know i have a one track mind.

Last book: The Pluto Files, The Rise and Fall of America's Favorite Planet
Currently: After the Funeral by Agatha Christie

Last Book: The Wealth of Nations
Current Book: The Federalist Papers and The Anti-Federalists Papers (I've read both multiple times, but I wanted to do a more in depth cross-reference between the two)

those are on my to-read list, but god only knows when ill ever actually get them.

being in school, i dont read as often as I used to, I'll soon have a little extra free time and plan to read Walden ( i barely started it), then I have 2 or 3 National Geographics to read, 2 Feed&Wine issues and 2 Bon Apetit issues. Usually those mags are the only regular reading I get done.

come to think of it, I read a spanish cookbook that I picked up cheap at B&N maybe 2 months ago, if that counts for anything 🙂

nothing really wrong with that. once i find an author i like, i try to find everything he/she has ever written. unfortunately, most of the authors I've liked lately wrote in the early 1900s and its become hard to find some of their books.

What I find myself doing though to branch out to other authors is to find out which authors/books influenced the authors I already like. Usually I end up liking those books/authors as well.

Last: The Sword of Angels by John Marco
Now: State of Fear by Michael Crichton

Recall The Little Prince from my childhood. Snow Crash was a great read (years ago, before the true rise of the internet into mainstream awareness) and the Wheel of Time series is my all-time favorite series. Really unfortunate that Jordan did not survive to complete the final novel.
