I got the eVGA mobo in my sig and a copy of Quake 4 for "free".

I ordered the 7800GT and mobo combo at ZZF. It came with Quake 4 even though it wasn't supposed to. Then, the video card was bad. I RMA'd it, but they didn't have any replacements in stock, and they weren't going to get any more. So, they refunded the full amount of the video card without charging me the restocking fee. On the invoice the video card was listed as $330 and the mobo as $0, so I got to keep the mobo and Quake 4 for free. I did have to spend about a month with a crappy old 4MB PCI video card in my system, because I didn't have a spare PCI-e card, which was payment enough!

eVGA ran the promotion for a free Quake 4 with purchase for a while, but this was about a month after they stopped that. At ZZF when they were running the promotion, it stated "with free Quake 4" in the title of the video card. It did not do this when I made my purchase.

I don't really buy much stuff considering I'm in a constant state of being broke, but I have managed to get a couple decent deals here and there. Netgear 108mbps Super-G router & PCMCIA card for $20 AR/AC from Staples. For $10 a piece, that's a pretty decent deal to me. A replacement LCD ribbon cable for a Latitude LS laptop for $17. Hugely lucky on that one, if you can even find them in stock from a laptop parts seller they usually run $40-$60. On eBay they can hit almost $70. Definitely a great deal that one.

moshquerade,

How do you like the mp3 player? I am thinking of getting the exact same model for my 10.5 year old son. It is $59.99 at Amazon, walmart and everywhere else.

Thx

Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 300GB SATA 16MB Cache for $90 in-store at frys. that was pretty damn cheap IMO.

oh, and my keyboard/mouse set, the microsoft wireless optical desktop elite for bluetooth, which was $50 at amazon.com.
