Toshiba laptop at the beginning of the year for ~$400.

EDIT: Oh, and I found $20 on the sidewalk today. That's probably an even better deal.

Right after the first of the year, Home Depot was having a huge "After Christmas" sale, and I got a screaming deal on a Ryobi cordless 18v tool set. 10 pcs, (includes the nylon carry bag and some misc. junk like drill bit set etc.) for $135. Normally $299, was SUPPOSED to be on sale for $229., but they mismarked it...they honored the price marked, so, being the honest guy I am, I got 2 of them at that price...
lets see...cordless drill, chain saw, sabre saw, sawzall, skill-saw, flashlight, vacuum, stud-finder carrying case, charger w/ 2 batteries and the misc. blades and bits...

Before all the tool gurus chime in, yeah, I know they're not the highest quality tools, but these are for home use, NOT contractor use, so they should last me for many years. My last Ryobi cordless drill is about 7 yrs old, and other than needing a new battery, (came with 2..one dead, one still good.) it still works just fine.

viewsonic VA 902b for $110 after rebate (still crossing my fingers on the extra $50 rebate)

but nothing much. some minor freebees... free 512mb SD card, free speakers... etc.

Still mad I missed out on this one (lousy having to work and all). CompUSA had a 160GB external HDD for $29.99 after on-line rebate a couple weeks ago. It was in-store only and I think they sold out in about an hour. You can normall get a decent enclosure for $30, but not with a $160GB drive and backup software.
