what's the highest voltage I should go with my 2.4c?

I've had bad luck overclockign this thing. Its on;y stabel at 2.76. I tried 3.0 with 1.6 Vcore but that was not very stable at all? should I jsut leave it a 2.7 or bump up the vcore to 1.625 and try again?

you sure its not your memory? Try increasing your DIMM voltage too...

i have default core and 2.8 on ram and its super stable

memtest runs for 10 hours no problem ( 2x512 hyper x pc 3500)

if ur vcore was at 2.8, i think it'd be a crisp.

disable GAT. that's probably what's holding you back an not the voltage.

oh yeah, you're the guy that had the exact same pack date as mine from Staples

that's definately your problem. for reference I got mine to 270 FSB at 5:4 with GAT disabled and 1.65 vcore.

What bios are you using? The only option I have for GAT is auto, turbo, f1 and something else.

...are you talking about the 4 options (command per cycle etc) below it? should I just disable them all???
did you also get random reboots??

I use 1.725 vcore (1.68 actual/idle and 1.65 actual/full-load) on my Abit IC7 (it undervolts significantly). I am also using a Thermalright SLK900U with a 92mm Panaflo H1A fan setup. I would not recommend anything higher than 1.675 on Intel stock HSF combos for any long duration of use.

What power supply are you using? And you tested your memory/cpu with Memtest86 right?

Memtest with the 2x512 pc 3500 hyper x sticks ran error free for 10 hours with cache on and All tests enabled.

Well, the only thing left for you to try is to up the vcore above 1.6.

Before doing so, I would also try to relax the memory timings to 2.5-7-3-3 first, and juice up your VAGP/VDimm to 1.65 and 2.8 first. Also disable things such as usb, serial, parallel ports if you don't use them.

You shouldn't need to up the vagp if you lock your pci and agp frequencies. in fact I would advise against it.

I have my vcore at 1.65V

Depends on cooling. People have been using over 2V when cooled with liquid nitrogen.

my ddr is already running iunder rated spec ( ddr4343 running at ddr 368) so I shouldn't have to use 3:2 right?

So you are using a 1.725vcore? about 1.68v actual. Is that safe if you have a slk-900u/92mm fan. I have a 2.6c slk-900u/80mm fan and artic silver ceramique. I'm currently at 1.65vcore but 3.11ghz. I wanna get it stable at 3.2ghz / 250 fsb 5:4 ratio. But that requires me to up my voltage to about the same as yours, 1.725v. You know if thats safe with our setups?

Anything overclocked beyond specs is a risk to your electronic equipment. As far as I know, anything under 1.7vcore full load should be a safe range for the latest P4 chips with more than adequate cooling. The IC7 undervolts the vcore as you know, so my full load vcore is about 1.65 (bios set to 1.725). I've been running this for over a month now, so far no problems, but this doesn't testify to the long-term use at these settings.
