What's the highest spatial dimension you can mentally visualize?

Yesterday in thermodynamics/statisical mechanics we were talking about the 10^23 dimension. :shocked:

We were talking about momentum space or something.

We were talking about the space that contains all of the momentum states of an ideal gas. But I really have not grasped the concept yet.

Yup, sounds like phase space. And it's not just for ideal gases. As long as you can get a coordinate and momentum for your particles, you can constuct this space for whatever system you want.

i dont remember the exact number but in quantum mech 2 we were doing stuff in spaces that we kinda just made up to make the equations work
