What's the highest credit score?

I'm pretty thrilled with my 800 score with Experian... what's the highest you can get?

Are they different for each bureau?

I did my last year, from Experian and another company (one of the 3), number was about 720 for Experian and a little less from the other. not much different, but the number is not the same.
If I remember it right the highest number is 900, I wish I could get that....

Hey what was that website that gave you your credit score for free? You'd give them account numbers off two of your current accounts and a few days later you'd get your score.

Thanks for reminding me about my pathetic 634 or whatever it is now 🙁

My wife probably is around 700+

I thought 850 was the highest. 800 is very exceptional. Get it from equifax and it may be a bit lower but suffice to say you could get anything you wanted.

"The FICO score, developed by Fair, Isaac Inc. (the pioneer in credit scoring) is a number between 300 and 850 that lenders use to determine your credit risk. A FICO score is a snapshot of your credit risk at a particular point in time. The higher your credit score the more likely you are to be approved for loans and receive favorable rates."

It is best that you pull your credit report from each of the three credit reporting agencies. Each keeps data on you and it doesn't always match up.

This Link to the Hot Deals thread details how to get them for free or at a reduced cost according to what state you live in.

yeah but what's his SCORE? probably 851..... I bet he called and told them if he didn't have a higher rating than anyone he would buy them and turn them into schools for clowns and mimes.......

So is 850 the highest score, or 900?

Highest score is 950. edit: Correction - 850 for consumer credit score. I was looking at a different model other than FICO 🙂

850, to be considered as having top line credit the big three need 25 YEARS credit history at LEAST, these people posting those high scores (800+) obviously have long outsanding credit histories...

Mine was around the high 600's and low 700's last time I checked. Since then I've paid off 2 cars, and a home improvement loan. Before June rolls around I'll have paid off 2 primary mortgages and one secondary. Will that elevate my score to the 800's or better?

Actually, his file is one of that that is flagged if it is ever pulled 🙂

Anyone who can lease an entire island probably does'nt need credit. Damn I wish I had his financial problems. 😛

Depends on what else is on your credit report. It should bump it up but I don't know about all the way into the 800s.

FYI - I work for Equifax. And no, I can't do anything about your credit score. 🙂

it will bump it but not that much, those were probably fairly close to being paid off the last time you checked, so it's not like you greatly reduced your income to debt ratio, or % of possible credit in use, if you have all those paid off though you score is irrelevant, you will be able to qualify for anything you desire realistically...

Anyone looking to improve their bad credit I would recommend pulling your report from each company separately and then lauching investigations on EVERYTHING. They give the companies 30 days to respond with their evidence and then make a decision, alot of companies cant move the paper fast enough, don't reply in time and they get dropped off...

900?
Correct.
900 is the highest score possible (although I have never seen above 850).
Possible score range is between 300 and 900. Average is probably around 650. Above 800 is extremely exceptional and rare. Above 720 is AAA credit, and would represent more or less perfect credit. 680-720 is AA, with minor blemishes like high balance ratios, new accounts, inquiries, and/or VERY OLD late payments. 620-680 is A, possibly with isolated minor late payments, past and paid collections, finance company accounts, very high balance ratios (i.e. credit cards maxed, etc.), or possible very old past and paid major derog but with re-established credit. 550-620 is B, with frequent late payments (possibly some accounts currently late), unpaid collections, charge-offs, and possible major but past and paid derog like bankruptcy, foreclosure, repossession, etc. 500-550 is C, with a regular history of serious late payments (2 or more months behind), possible current late payments, and possibly have a major derog in progress at the time of credit pull. Below 500, most financing is virtually impossible under any circumstances. A not-so-nice nickname for scores below 500 is "prison credit," 'nuff said.
